Assistance and Services for the Unemployed - To provide a permanent income for those workers disabled due to a job related illness or injury; to provide a temporary income for those unemployed due to a reduction in the work force; and to provide temporary Public service jobs, and technical assistance and services to States and localities with a high unemployment rate.
